Its a kind of bittersweet.

"Jinguo, we have a proposal for you" as my boss offered me in the kinda evil tone. and i was like "ok, sound cool, so what's up?"

"some of us are coming to the office to finish up some work this coming friday. and maybe you can be come as well. we'll be offering you market rate la, meaning double of what you are earning now for your availability on that day. and we decided to ask you first because of you are our first choice"

drool starts to gather in my mouth and ready to poof out like the fountain of wealth as i get ready to give him my reply to the offer.

"huh.. i don't think i want to work on friday." i said in a roar!!-i-must-resist-the-temptation voice.

"hmm.. you have church service on that day right? ok la. good that you know your priorities." and my superior gave me a pat on my back and walked away.

inside the deepest of my heart screams, its ALOT of money leh!! when i say alot, its REALLY ALOT!! its not like the minimal wage you get in working in fastfood restaurants you know?


then as i am grumbling and moaning inside and still cant get over it. i hear a still small voice saying "are you giving up that job offer because in the eyes of men, you have to or do you want to celebrate good friday with me?"

i got owned right on the spot.

we can get so easily get caught up between religiosity and relationship with God, that we cannot think straight at times.. come one! delight yourself in the Lord! rejoices! lets celebrate Good Friday!
